2012 Olympics

Stageco worked closely with event contractors, Arena Group and LOCOG to support the delivery of equipment and engineering expertise, supplying a number of ancillary structures across Horse Guards Parade and The Mall sites. 7.000m² of Layher scaffolding was supplied to construct the substructures and decking for two practice volleyball courts, positioned alongside the main stadium in Horse Guards Parade. Supporting 1.6 tonnes per square meter of sand, the capacity was more than three times the normal festival stage, requiring extensive engineering design work before installation. Within the 18.000 capacity volleyball arena Stageco built two 30m high grand screen supports, constructed using the XL Single Tower system to support the heavy AV equipment. More structures were provided throughout the site, including Start/Stop gantry, platforms and bridges.
