After the premiere at the Hockenheimring last year, this time around the Matapaloz Festival changed its venue to Leipzig. The second edition of the open-air event initiated by the Böhsen Onkelz took place on 22 and 23 June, with the band and organisers again placing their trust in the proven and committed support from Stageco Deutschland. It was the fourth consecutive deployment of the Königsbrunn company for the Böhsen Onkelz and LiveGeist Entertainment. The Böhsen Onkelz, who headlined the second Matapaloz Festival on the two days, were joined by bands such as Megadeath, In Extremo and Arch Enemy. For this open-air event at the Leipzig fairground, Stageco Deutschland provided a 4-tower stage, massively reinforced in order to withstand the enormous roof load resulting from the event technology (lighting/LED/sound). The outcome of last year’s festival and the experiences gained from it were a source of reference in planning the incorporation of the extravagant decorative elements into the apocalyptic design for this year’s event. Stageco was also responsible for assembling delay towers with gondolas for the follow-spot operators, along with FOH and other constructions on the infield. For two subsequent Böhsen Onkelz performances on 18 August at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt and on 8 September at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, both of which had sold out by mid-September 2017, Stageco again provided the required staging services.
